C.1880. A striking Victorian gold collar necklace. The necklace can be worn double-sided with or without a locket/pendant. It is a gorgeous and versatile piece that can be worn in four different ways. Beautifully designed chunky links offer a bold and stylish look. The design still feels timeless after 140 years.
One side shows intricate gold work of geometric lines with a quatrefoil pattern, and the other side displays a simple background with a vertical line. The round connector links are very subtly rosy hued, and two different shapes of the links make delightful harmony together. The necklace has two original spring bolt ring clasps- Not only a locket/pendant can be attached from it, but also it can adjust the total length by omitting a link. The bolt ring clasps are both in great working order. This collar necklace is crafted in 14k gold, and has a generous length of 20.75 inches. The weight measures 35.63 grams. Overall this piece is in great condition with the natural patina in gold. No missing details in gold work.
