A collectable and curious early 19th century papier-mâché snuff box. This beautifully made snuff box is shoe-shaped, and the details are outlined in silver inlay. The lid has a very finely painted miniature painting of a maiden wearing a big field hat and carrying flower baskets. Overall this piece is in very good condition. Some light/minor crazing shows. The lid shuts with a good snap sound.
