A fabulous and rare vintage 22k gold heart pendant by Jean Mahie. 'Jean Mahie' is named after a father and his daughter-in-law, Jean-Marie Mazard and Jacline Mazard. They began creating jewelry together in the early 1970s. Their distinctive style of 'wearable art' with its bold design and meticulously handcrafted one of a kind approach makes their pieces highly collectable. This heart pendant is large and heavy with a weight of 22.50 grams. The surface of the piece is elaborately hand-hammered, which also is one of the main characteristics of Mahie jewelry. The rich 22k gold and the substantial scale offers a striking look. All is original including the elaborately hammered bale. The pendant is fully signed on the back- Jean Mahie, 22458 and 22K. Overall it is in excellent condition, and will last as a special timeless piece.
