A Victorian banded agate sardonyx and black enamel mourning ring from 1849. The oval shaped banded agate center stone shows a rich contrast of black and white in pattern. The ring is beautifully inscribed inside 'Thomas Wheatley 11th Oct. 1849.' It contains a hidden locket at the rear center, and woven hair still remains intact in it. The ring is 18k yellow gold, and overall in very good condition.
