Love at first sight. An adorable antique niello heart locket. Dated to the late 19th century to early 20th century, it is quite unusual to see a heart locket in niello and also on this large scale. The heart is oversized and plump. Most likely there was a compass in the locket area. The heart opens, and the glass compartment is still intact. The heart is beautifully patterned in niello, and overall it is in great condition.
