Antique German Faux Coral Earrings

Antique German Faux Coral Earrings

This pair of Biedermeier glass earrings set faux coral/ red glass in 14k gold (marked as European 585 for 14k gold). The Biedermeier period refers to a great creative era in German-speaking Central European Royal cities and in Scandinavia (i.e. Berlin, Munich, Vienna, and Copenhagen). Between 1815 (Congress of Vienna at the end of the Napoleonic Wars) and 1848 (the year of European revolutions), grand visions of Romanticism were matched with common sensibilities as expressed in the arts. During the Biedermeier era, visual art culture expanded dramatically, especially in the decorative arts, painting, and furniture. Most likely German in origin.

The earrings have front fastening.
