An adorable and finely made early 20th century owl brooch. The brooch is crafted in 18k gold, the oval-shaped frame is set with deep red spinels at four ends. Owls represent wisdom, good luck and protection in Victorian symbolism. The owl in this brooch is beautifully depicted, having the details very crisp in high relief. The clasp is in good working order, and it has an additional catch for extra security. This brooch adds a perfect little accent to your jacket lapel, shirt or on a hat. The back of the brooch is flat, so it can also be easily converted to a pendant if desired. Overall this piece is in great condition with the natural patina in gold.
