A remarkable and highly sought-after ring by Eric de Kolb. Eric de Kolb (1916 - 2001) was an Austrian born surrealistic sculptor, painter and a jewelry maker. His early training in sculpture led him into jewelry making, and his work was often inspired by Romanesque, Greek and Etruscan elements. De Kolb’s work was created in the transitional lost wax/cire-perdue method, which involved the destruction of the original wax sculpture. Each piece was hand-sculpted, and the mold could only be used a limited number of times, which resulted in each of the jewels being more unique and exclusive. This ring is large in scale, hence gives a striking appearance when worn. Crafted in 14k gold, the ring feels substantial with 27.54 grams. It is a true piece of art, and one of the highlights among his works. Overall the ring is in great condition. A full artist's signature inside.
