A late 18th century pink Tassie intaglio ring. Tassie is a glass version of a cameo or intaglio. It was named after James Tassie (1735-1799) who was a Scottish engraver. He created numerous miniature profiles and medals for the nobles in Britain, and made this type of intaglios very popular. The intaglio in this ring features a handsome neoclassical figure, and the ring has a contemporary swivel setting in 18k yellow gold. Overall in great condition.
