A magnificent gold bracelet with three intaglios, c.1850-1870. The large center intaglio depicts superbly carved Strozzi Medusa on chalcedony. The two side intaglios portray two figures- An ancient Greek philosopher, Plato on the carnelian and unidentified one on the bloodstone. This bracelet has beautifully crafted one-of-a-kind handmade quality. It probably started as a commission with the chalcedony Medusa that is from c.1780-1820. The design of putting three different colored stones is brilliant, the scale works well together as well. The gold chain is flexible and smooth. The clasp is in good working order, and it closes with a good snap sound. The stones are set contoured for a comfortable fit on a wrist. Overall this piece is in great condition with the natural patina and warmth in gold.
